The Role
If you’re interested in starting a career in data science, this role is for you. The Data Scientist will work with stakeholders from a variety of industries, such as water and engineering to analyse, interpretate and manipulate geospatial and non-spatial data.
Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’.
  • Embrace explorative techniques to analyse and manipulate large datasets and automate the processes using Python
  • Create visually immersive and intuitive reports using BI tools i.e., Power BI, to allow clients to monitor performance and make decisions in real-time
  • Develop strong relationships with external stakeholders and be seen as a trustworthy resource
  • Consult and collaborate with internal data science or data engineering teams for quantitative best practices and solutions
What we are looking for
  • Tertiary qualifications in computer science, engineering or a related field
  • Experience in data science areas such as spatial analysis and statistical analytics
  • Experience in designing and developing geospatial applications and tools using ESRI ArcGIS Pro and Python
  • Data visualisation with Power BI
  • Ability and commitment to collaborate with staff on data analysis and other tasks and communicate results to both technical and non-technical audience.
